Consultancy
Multimedia Ventures has provided a wide range of consultancy services to European clients in the public and private sectors with a special focus on multimedia and eLearning content development.
Consumer Multimedia and Educational Content
We provided a fast market analysis for a leading new media developer introducing a complete range of consumer (edutainment) titles to the market. The research involved a large-scale survey of CD-ROM buyers and provided essential qualitative and quantitative data and recommendations on which the client could base a title and business development strategy. Following on from this work, we have provided advice and consultancy to UK publishers and European content owners, particularly those seeking to exploit digital assets in the educational marketplace.
From Educational Technology to e-Learning
Multimedia Ventures' partners were involved in some of the earliest UK pilots related to the use of computers in schools and interactive video in education and training. Studies, surveys and reports in this field, include: analysis of the work of pioneering schools and local authorities; the development of interactive training strategies for corporate clients; consultancy to the companies leading the first European eLearning Summit (IBM, Cisco Systems, Nokia, SanomaWSOY, SmartForce); and ongoing business and project development services to European Schoolnet (an initiative involving 27 ministries of Education).
Multimedia Support Centres
Multimedia Ventures' partners worked at the UK 's National Interactive Video Centre (NIVC), Europe 's first support centre for interactive media. NIVC represented a pioneering collaboration between government (the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Education and Science), and corporate partners such as Apple, IBM, Intel, Philips, Pioneer, Sony and leading content developers. Building on this experience, we worked with a number of European partners to develop a business co-ordination model for a network of Multimedia Support Centres established with funding from the European Commission. This was followed by a number of strategic studies for regional and local authority agencies involved in supporting new media developers and take-up of new media by end-users
PDA Launch and Developer Identification
Multimedia Ventures carried out research for a major computer vendor into the publishing strategies adopted by early developers of handheld, electronic publishing devices. The client particularly asked Multimedia Ventures to identify weaknesses in the publishing strategies of competitors and to recommend experienced new media developers who could assist with the development of applications to support the launch of the company's own portable information device.
Business Development, Sponsorship and Marketing
Multimedia Ventures has helped both public and private sector organisations, including SMEs, to create business development, marketing and corporate communication plans. We have also helped clients to find new business partners, identify marketing channels, secure sponsorship for products and events, and develop long-term business relationships based on public-private partnerships (PPPs).
