About Us
In the late 1980s, Multimedia Ventures' partners worked at the UK 's National Interactive Video Centre (NIVC), Europe 's first support centre for interactive media. NIVC represented a pioneering collaboration between government (the DTI and DES), and corporate partners such as Apple, IBM, Intel, Philips, Pioneer, Sony and leading developers of interactive content.
Drawing on this experience of working with both public and private sector organisations, Multimedia Ventures quickly established a wide client base that included some of the key players in the emerging new media sector. In 1991 Multimedia Ventures created The Multimedia Yearbook and established the title as the leading international reference source on the multimedia marketplace. The profile achieved by The Multimedia Yearbook led to an expansion of the company's European clients and to the company providing regular consultancy services to the European Commission and to companies involved in European RTD programmes.
Having provided the Secretariat to the British Interactive Multimedia Association (BIMA) and organised the annual BIMA Conference and Awards for several years, we went on to launch our own awards' event for the smart card industry in 1999 and to provide full service event management services for a range of organisations.
